“Yes Day!” is a day which comes only once a year.  On this day, the answer to every question asked by a child is “Yes!”  Among other things, the boy in the book is able to have pizza for breakfast, put off cleaning his room until the next day, and go out for ice cream.

Cayden:  “That would be cool to have a Yes Day!  I would ask for ice cream like the boy.  I would also ask to go to the water park and to go skiing.  I would eat cookies and yogurt.  And I think I would watch a scary movie.  That would sure be a fun day to do all of those things.  I liked this book because I liked to see the boy get to do fun things.”

Parent’s comments:
My son was still talking about “Yes Day!” hours after we finished reading it.  He kept coming up with more things that he would ask for if there were such a day as Yes Day.  I liked how the book encouraged him to use his imagination and think about his favorite things to do.  “Yes Day!” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal & Tom Lichtenheld is a great book to encourage creative discussion and would be a fun addition to any child’s bookshelf.
