When I received “The Reckoning,” I was really exited to read it! I had loved the other books in this series, so I could not wait to read this one. It definitely did not disappoint me, and surpassed my expectations! I literally could not put this book down! I was up the entire night reading this book.
“The Reckoning” begins with Chloe and the rest of her gang running for the Edison group. As a powerful necromancer who can bring back the dead in her sleep, and the leader of the group, it is Chloe’s job to make sure that everyone is safe at all times. That’s a lot for a 15-year-old to handle! As if that wasn’t enough, Chloe also has to battle her feelings for Simon and Derek, the brothers who she cannot decide between. What’s a girl to do?
Although the summary of this book makes it seem exactly like the other two books in the series, it is completely different! The characters are the same, and the main conflict is the same, but the way that this story progresses is totally different from the previous two novels in this series. If I had to pick a favorite, this one would definitely be my favorite one of the entire series!
If I had to recommend this book to anyone, I would probably recommend it to people who are around the age of 14, 15, or 16. I feel as though if you are older than that, you may not be able to relate to Chloe, so the book will not be as enjoyable. Also, if you are much younger than that, you may not understand some of the feelings and emotions that Chloe is feeling, therefore causing you to be left confused.
One thing that I really enjoyed about The Reckoning” was the necklace on the cover. I love how Armstrong keeps with the theme of having Chloe’s amulet on the cover of the books. I love how it changes color from book to book! I literally could not put this book down!
