Cayden’s comments:
“The little leaf in this book is named Deciduous. He wants to stay on the tree to see Christmas. That is pretty hard for a leaf to do, to stay on a tree that long because they change colors and fall down. Every holiday he sees he thinks is Christmas – like the 4th of July and Halloween, but they aren’t Christmas yet. All of his friends fall down. He really wants to make it though. I liked this book and all of the different leaves that lived on the tree. After we read the book, my brother and I looked outside on our trees and we see two in our backyard that have a couple of leaves on them. I think that those leaves are trying to hang on to the tree until Christmas. They even held on during a really bad snowstorm. I hope they make it.”
Parent’s comments:
“The Little Leaf” is such a great, thought-provoking book. My son enjoyed the story and I truly hope that the leaves in our backyard can hold on until Christmas as he checks out the window everyday to see if they are still there.
