“The Last Triceracorn (Book Two)” by Vincent M. Miceli is a dynamic sequel to a popular contemporary teen fantasy novel where Matea and Luciana, two resourceful and talented sisters, are caught up in an international adventure of heroism, loyalty, friendship, and mystery, not to mention one of the main ingredients, magic. The settings are unique and challenging, but with help from their new friends, who are also gifted and talented, they take on the evil in the world. Young readers will be entertained and maybe even spooked by the houses that are haunted, forests that may or may not be real, and island tribes. They are out to rescue a mystical creature, and the globe itself, from total annihilation.

Miceli brings his energy and passion to Book Two of the series, along with awesome world-building skills, an exciting plot, and lively dialogue. The story bursts from the gate on the first page, moving on to weird bones and possible experiments found among stone walls. Then you are swept up into the characters and storyline in a way that makes you feel like you are on a magic carpet ride of adventure, peril, and surprise.

This author writes with details that stir the imagination and satisfy curiosity, and the suspense will have you biting your nails. For those who are wondering what a triceracorn is, well, you just have to read the book for yourself to find out, I won’t spoil it here. Any fan wondering what could happen following the closing of the first book, well, the wait is over. These sisters are strong, fun characters, and their interactions with the other characters like Shutini, Tusheen, Sienna, Vinzario, Grux, among others, bring a sense of humor and a sprinkling of wisecracks into the mix.

Even if you aren’t familiar with the first book, jump right in, or get caught up. You won’t be disappointed. Fans of the first book are in for a real treat. If you’re looking for a well-conceived and executed teen action and adventure book, your search should end with “The Last Triceracorn (Book Two)” by Vincent M. Miceli.
