“The Forgotten Princess” by F.H. Mickel is the story of a flower that lived in a castle. The queen who lived there at the moment, loved flowers. The tulips were her favorite, and she had a garden and it was beautiful. Every day, flowers were picked to decorate the palace. In between all the flowers there was one that was never picked and was named Princess by the others, because she was always with her head up even though she was never chosen.

One day the queen moved and had to leave her garden. The new queen was not interested in flowers and so the garden was very dry and had weeds. Many years passed, and Princess was still there, no one ever picked her. One day the queen was having problems and decided to have a ball inviting the most important prince. She needed the most beautiful flowers for the event. Many were picked but not Princess, and she felt so sad, hopeless, and alone. The next day the queen came out to the garden with a woman and they were looking for something that they finally found. Meet Princess and discover what the women were looking for in the garden.

It is very cute story that will show how Princess was brave and never lost her hope. I love the message of the story, the courage of the princess to never give up and always lift your head and see the value in you no matter what. Love the illustrations.

A Note from Paola’s Mom:

In “The Forgotten Princess” by F.H. Mickel you will see how Princess was bothered by other flowers, yet she never lost her hope. She was brave regardless of the fact she was never chosen. This is a great message for the young reader, to believe in yourself, never lose hope, and be strong.
