“Sloppy Joe” is about a boy who is very messy.  His room is a disaster, he talks with food in his mouth, and he brings frogs into the house.  He decides to try to make a change and become Neat Joe instead.

Cayden:  “He had a really messy room.  He had a grilled cheese in there that was a year old and he tried to eat it.  That was yucky!  I liked the jokes that he told especially when he said that a hot dog was the kind of pet that the sun had.  That was funny!  I liked it better when he was messy instead of when he tried to be clean.”

Parent’s comments:
“Sloppy Joe” by Dave Keane is filled with the type of humor that my 4-½ year old son enjoys.  From the meatball rolling across the floor to the boy being covered in mud, Cayden was laughing out loud for most of the book.  The illustrations are very detailed and you can spend a lot of time on each page laughing at all of the messy, sloppy things going on!  This is definitely a perfect book for a young boy!
