“Servants of the Storm” by Delilah S. Dawson is about a girl named Dovey that goes through a bunch of hard times, including a friend dying, a hurricane, and dealing with demons. The author was very successful in pulling me in and inviting me to read the book, I read right away as the author used language that hooked me into binge reading it from start to finish. The author uses vivid imagery and language that will connect to everyone and make readers not want to put the book down. I enjoyed this book because of Dawson’s dynamics.

The book is for teenagers from 13 to 18 years old, and I felt close ties to Dovey as she explained her lifestyle and the way she lives and acts. My all time favorite part of the book is when Dovey sees her long gone friend Carly in the coffee shop, and right after that, I just could not put it down.

I enjoyed “Servants of the Storm” very much and will be reading her other books soon! Delilah Dawson is a wonderful writer and I enjoyed all of the dynamics and details of all of the characters presented in the book. Dovey’s city of Savannah pulled her in and Hurricane Josephine took over, but that didn’t stop Dovey from going on to discover the hidden secrets. I give “Servants of the Storm” 5 stars!
