Madeline: This is a really cool experiment book! The scientist dog is really cute in the book; he helps you through the experiments. I have fun pretending I am a scientist with all the test tubes, beaker and funnel. We have done five of the experiments so far and I plan on doing all of them! My favorite experiment is the glow dough. We made our own “play-doh” and put a pinch of the special glow powder in the recipe. I made a snowman and he glows in the dark. My sister got some glow in the dark powder on her hands and she was glowing too, we couldn’t stop laughing. Today we started the “making crystals” but we have to wait a couple days for it to “grow.”
Sophia: I like playing with all the fun stuff that came with the experiment book. My favorite experiment was the glow dough. My Mom helped me make a kitty and I made two bowls, one for food and one for water. The kitty glows, but I painted the bowls. The glow powder is my favorite part of the experiments. I also liked making the “lava lamps” — we played with them a lot.
Parent comment:
Wow, what a great book and kit! We have had similar products, but none that came with the items the girls mentioned above. I think that was a really great thing to enhance their experience and capture their interest. They love to play with the tools whether doing and experiment with me or pretending on their own. I liked that there are a number of different experiments, but not too many. “Secret Formula Lab” is a great value for your money. I can see this item sitting around the house for another 5+ years as the girls grow older and do them on their own.
