“I like horses and the girls were like me; that’s why I chose this book. My favorite part of the book was when Meg showed Moonbeam to her class for Show n Tell. And I really liked when she met Sparkles and Meg said, ‘His nose is soft.’ I thought it was cute that they drew a horse on their board in the barn. I want to be in a Pony Club.”

Parent’s Note:
This book had engaging illustrations of the little girls and the ponies and overall was a good story with a nice outcome. By the end, the girls decide to start a Pony Club. It also has several moments that make a side conversation possible (e.g. -What would you take to Show n Tell? Rub my nose; is it as soft as the pony’s?) Grayce had trouble identifying and keeping track of the girl’s names. She asked me several times “Who is Jill?” and “Which one is Meg?” Grayce gave “Pony Crazy” by Catherine Hapka four stars.
