Cayden: “In this book there is a sheep and her life has boring colors like gray and green. Then a huge orange balloon flies by. She gets excited about it. Then she says that she is an orange balloon and she does all of the things that the color orange does. She can be whatever she wants to be just like I can when I grow up! My favorite picture was the one of the orange mean tiger.”
I really liked the message conveyed in “Mathilda and the Orange Balloon” that anything is possible. What a great lesson to teach young children! The illustrations are simplistic, as is the text, but they both do a great job at getting the point across.
