“I’m Just Like My Mom; I’m Just Like My Dad” is a great book exploring the similarities between a mother and daughter and between a father and son.  One story is on one side and then you flip the book over in the middle for the other story.  The text is written in both English and Spanish.

Max:  “We play soccer too!  In the yard!  With dada!”

Cayden:  “I liked this book!  Max and I like playing soccer with dad in the backyard like that boy plays with his dad.  That was mine and Max’s favorite part!  I also like drinking hot chocolate like they did except we drink hot chocolate with mom instead of dad. “

Max:  “Yum!  Hot chocolate!”

Cayden:  “I liked the side with the mom and the girl too but I liked the side with the boy better because I am a boy.”

Max:  “Me boy too!”

Parent’s comments:
“I’m Just Like My Mom; I’m Just Like My Dad” is a fun book because it is different.  I liked that there were two books in one and that it was written in both English and Spanish.  This book would be very useful in helping to teach your child a second language.  My children, both being boys, related to the boy side of the book much more than the girl side but there were still things on the girl side that they could also relate to.      “I’m Just Like My Mom; I’m Just Like My Dad” by Jorge Ramos is a wonderful book that explores ways in which parents and their children are alike.
