“A word or sound repeated to aid concentration in meditation, that is the definition of mantras.
Before reading “I Am Manifesto” by SB Hilarion, I had no idea that focusing on a picture or a word each day, could help you feel better about yourself. This book is more of a calendar journal than a story, which you can follow each day to achieve belief in yourself.
This is a great tool to use for meditation, as the calendar is an easy to follow guide for the mantras you want to use each day of the month. It allows for kids to have a better understanding of the path to follow in believing in themselves and being a better person.
I looked up different ways you could meditate, as I have never done this before. I used the words and images each day on the calendar while I followed the instructions on meditation, and I was surprised how well it came together and the peace you felt doing this each day.
I thought the pictures in the book were very interesting, and some of them I liked to use as images during meditation. I think my favorite one was the picture of the city. I loved the warm yellow and orange sky colors and images of the shops along the street. I would have liked the book to include more information about meditation, as I found when combining the two subjects, the calendar was more usable. The glossary in the back of the book is great for kids to be able to learn new words and their meanings. This allows them to better understand the lesson or mantra for that day. The words are also broken up into syllables, so that you can pronounce them easier.
I enjoy learning new things, and by reading “I Am Manifesto” by SB Hilarion, I was introduced to the world of using mantras in meditation. Using the calendar in the book helped me organize my meditation schedule for the day. This is a very useful book for kids wanting to explore meditation and affirmations, using images and words for improving your self-esteem and overall well-being.
