“Green Wise Kids” by Jean A. Clausen is a collection of poems about keeping the earth a nice place. Some of the poems talk about frogs. If a frog is in your path, then step around it. Another poem talks about birds and suggests putting out bird feeders. One poem tells kids to be sure to turn out the lights. A few poems talk about recycling and recycling newspapers.
All the poems are supposedly written by kids but the book never tells anything about who the kids are. I’d like to know more about the kids.
There is more scientific information about recycling and global warming at the very back of the book. That part was kind of long and it was hard to pay attention.
The illustrations are pretty and colorful. I think they are water colors. There is a hidden frog to find on each page which is kind of fun.
I would recommend “Green Wise Kids” to my friends.
