“Goodnight Goon” is written in the tradition of “Goodnight Moon” with a monster-ish twist. In this book we say goodnight to various creepy things like tombs, hairy claws, screechy bats, mummies, and the “old werewolf hollering ‘Boo.’”
Cayden: “A book about goons?!? Cool!”
Max: “Goons!!!”
Cayden: “This is kind of like that other book we have except it looks scarier!”
Max: “Scary! Rrrraaaarrrr!!”
Cayden: “I liked this book because it was scary and I like goons and monsters! My favorite part was the part with the hands with the claws on them, when we said goodnight to them! I liked looking at the pictures too! There were lots of scary things. I liked how it was like the ‘Goodnight Moon’ book.”
Parent’s comments:
I knew right away when I saw this book that my sons would love it! Ever since “Little Bunny Foo Foo” they have enjoyed anything related to “goons.” One of their favorite books is also “Goodnight Moon” so I was sure that this book would be the perfect fit for them and I was right! They thoroughly enjoyed the parody from start to finish and wanted me to read it over and over again. “Goodnight Goon: A Petrifying Parody” by Michael Rex is the perfect book for the Halloween season!
