“Faery Sight” by P. Bossano is the story of 18-year-old Celeste as she struggles to fulfill her destiny. Celeste has lived in the realm of the faery for her entire life. But with her mother on her death bed, Celeste faces a difficult choice. Should she stay in the realm of the faery or enter the world of the humans to avenge her mother’s death and face an evil woman completely set on her destruction?

Before Celeste’s mother, Paloma, died she told Celeste that in the world of humans an evil usurper named Arantxa had taken her shape, and Paloma was transformed into the ugly old crone that had been Arantxa. Arantxa then exiled Paloma from the kingdom. Paloma then made her way to the realm of the faery where she was cared for and helped by the faeries.

Celeste never knew the world of the humans but she was willing to venture there if it meant stopping Arantxa. But, upon her mother’s death, she also learned that as an infant she was betrothed to a human. If she leaves the forest she will become the bride of this absolute stranger.

When a mysterious human showed up one night during a faery festival, Celeste was surprised. Strangers were unheard of. Celeste soon became friends with the young man whose name was Etienne. She began to develop strong feelings for Etienne who was not what she ever expected a human to be like. Soon after her feelings began to develop, she learned that he was the one she would have to marry if she left the forest. Can Celeste with the help of Etienne and others take back her kingdom from the evil usurper?

I would recommend “Faery Sight” by P. Bossano to people who like magic and faeries. I think that this book is mostly aimed at teenage girls. This was a kind of slow read, but it still kept me entertained throughout.
