The author has done a lot of research on myths and legends from Canada. “Arctic Giants” describes some of the legends. The cover of the book is colorful, but the pictures inside are black and white and it is a large book to read.

Zoey:

This was a big book and hard to read sometimes. I got bored. I wanted colored pictures but they were in black and white. This just was too much for me to read. I know the words and could read them but it was small letters. I like quick stories with some chapters that aren’t so much information.

Nana:

Zoey didn’t want to read this book due to the small print and so much information. She got bored very easily and it was a struggle for her to read. I think if it was easier to read (larger print) she would have been more interested.  Perhaps she was a little too young for “Arctic Giants” which is recommended for ages 8 and up.
