Sophia:
My Mom and sister didn’t like it very much, but I thought it was interesting and only a little boring. This book is about a girl traveling through all kinds of States and writes all about the journeys she was on. She also put her letters in the book too. I’m not really a fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder, but her book was really nice. My favorite part was when they talked about the acres; she said there was 2,000 acres or more. When they traveled through Kansas City she said there was such beautiful scenery. The part I didn’t like was the long, long, long, letters! They were so long we had to take turns reading them! I really loved this story!
Madeline:
This book is about a girl traveling through many States and seeing lots of different things. Some parts of this book were interesting like when they where in San Francisco. The beginning of the book is just traveling through States and cities, but in the middle and ending, it’s just letters and pictures. This book was boring and it was hard for me to read because a lot of the time it didn’t make sense. That’s just my opinion; other kids and adults might like it. This book was pretty good at times, but not really good most of the time.
Parent Note:
I am such a huge fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder and I was really looking forward to reading “A Little House Traveler” with my two girls. However, it wasn’t until we reached page 300 and something of 344 pages that things got interesting. As an adult, I was even bored, so you can imagine the two children 10 and under.
