You need glasses! What devastating news for a young girl. Now poor Rachel may get called “Four Eyes.” Rachel Yoder sees this is as terrible news. Why is it that trouble seems to be always around her? Rachel seems to have come down with a severe case of the grumpies. It seems like nothing ever goes right for her. She has too many chores to do; life as an Amish girl usually does mean a lot of chores.

In this 5th book of Wanda Brunstetter’s “Always Trouble Somewhere” series, the trials continue for Rachel. Doesn’t the arrival of spring mean more fun and good adventures? Sometimes series seem to drag and the next book in the series isn’t as good as the first one or ones. This is not the case in this series; each book is just as great as the first.

Being a pre-teen girl myself who recently got glasses, I can understand how Rachel may feel, but I found I really do like my glasses. “A Happy Heart” by Wanda E. Brunstetter is a terrific book for teaching young girls to realize that Amish girls aren’t that much different than we are!
