“A Flag for The Flying Dragon” is a story in the Captain No Beard series by Carole P. Roman. This time Captain No Beard does not have a flag for his ship. One day the crew were all doing chores, Linus was polishing a big lamp, Matie was cracking some coconuts, Hallie swabbing the decks and Cayla was stuffing some rags in the cracks. Everyone was busy but somebody was missing. Captain No Beard heard a noise from above, it was little Zachary the youngest of the whole ship, who was giving Mongo the Monkey a hard time. Captain No Beard and the rest of the crew were trying to find a job for little Zachary so he would have one. Many ideas came but all the jobs were too much for little Zachary. Captain No Beard was worried because he didn’t want his crew to be upset. Something suddenly came to his mind – little Zachary will now be in charge of the ship’s flag. Everybody was happy that they solved the problem and that together they will still have fun.
I love how Captain No Beard solved the problem finding a job for little Zachary so that the crew could be happy and accept him as someone fun to work with on the crew. I loved how team work is always a good thing, and how together we can fix any problem and be happy as a team.
I like all the pictures and the colors in “A Flag for the Flying Dragon” by Carole P. Roman. It is always fun to read.
