“The Super Sleuth: A Case of Cold Feet” by Raj Vaid is about a middle-school boy named Sahil who has just started a detective service.  He and his younger sister Surina and their parents are on their way to a Caribbean resort for “Six fabulous days and seven star-filled nights.”  Much to Sahil’s surprise and dismay, some of his most annoying classmates show up at the same resort.  Justin Cleaver, a famous teenage singer, is also there, and Sahil’s sister and her friends go bonkers over him.  But when Justin Cleaver can’t find his lucky hanky and can’t sing without it, will Sahil be able to solve the mystery in time for the concert?  Who stole the hanky?

One of my favorite parts of the book was Boris Poppoff and his peashooter.  (I have created my own version of a peashooter since reading the book, but it doesn’t shoot nearly as far as Boris’.)  Boris is really pretty rude, and when his peashooter is broken by Justin Cleaver he becomes a suspect in the hanky-napping.

There is even some science in the book.  When Sahil finally solves the mystery, it is because he remembers his classmate Priya’s science fair project.

For Sahil, there is a big surprise at the end of the book.  You will have to read the book to see what it is!

I would recommend “The Super Sleuth: A Case of Cold Feet” to people who like mysteries.  It took less than an hour to read the book out loud, and my six-year-old brother enjoyed it, too.
