In “Sitting Duck,” puppy Anabel comes to visit and Max and the gang need to babysit and keep her from getting into trouble.  Knowing that it is going to be a difficult task, most of the gang makes a run for it before she even gets there.  Taking care of Anabel is a lot of work.

Cayden:  “Why did they all run in the beginning of the book?  Taking care of a puppy can’t be that hard!  They did a lot of fun things like play with a ball and read books.  I liked when they bounced on the trampoline.  They went super high but the puppy got stuck in a tree.  That wasn’t good.  My favorite part was when they all tried to help her and all landed on the trampoline.  That was a funny picture!”

Parent’s comments:

“Sitting Duck” by Jackie Urbanovic was a very action-packed book.  It kind of reminded me of our house, running and running from one activity to the next.  My son and I enjoyed the humorous illustrations; some of them had him laughing out loud!
