The Umbrella RaceGerry Thomas
Cayden’s comments: “This book is about a girl who has an umbrella; her umbrella talks. She wants to get her umbrella because it is raining and she wants to go outside and play in puddles. This book says that it is December so they must live somewhere different than us. In December here there is snow, no rain puddles. She takes her rainbow umbrella out and it races the other umbrellas down the street. They are magic umbrellas. I think that this book was funny. It would be funny to see umbrellas racing. I liked the pictures of the umbrellas. There were some cool ones like frog and shark umbrellas.” Parent’s comments: “The Umbrella Race” is a very creative, imaginative book. My child enjoyed looking at the bright, colorful illustrations and enjoyed the overall concept. I do think that the $25.95 price on the book is a tad bit high though for a 28-page, smaller-sized, hardcover book. |
