Fallen AngelHeather Terrell
When I received “Fallen Angel” in the mail, I was really excited to read it. I mean, who doesn’t love books with the word angel in the title? As I began reading, and kept on reading, for that matter, I was hooked, but then all of a sudden, the book was over before the big ending that I was expecting ever came about. Besides the lack of an amazing ending, this book was great! This book starts out with Ellsbeth, or Ellie as everyone calls her, meeting Michael. Michael is this new boy who Ellie is completely drawn to. He’s the first boy that Ellie’s ever really been able to talk to without freaking out over the fact that he’s a boy! Then she realizes that not only is she drawn to Michael - she and Michael also share another connection; they’re both able to fly and read other people’s thoughts when they touch them! Then they find out that they’re both also drawn to blood, especially each other’s. This book, although a fun read, was a letdown when it came to the ending. I was expecting so much more drama, so much more action, but then there was like nothing there! It was as though someone had given me a balloon to blow up until it explodes, but the balloon they gave me had a hole in it. No matter how hard I tried, there was no way for the explosion to happen. This book was quite similar to that in that there was no explosion at the end. There was no grand finale. A slight petering of the plot coming to an end is all there was. One thing that I really enjoyed about this book was the new spin on vampires that the author gave. I have read quite a few vampire novels, and “Fallen Angel” was the first one where the author had suggested that vampires were really just angels on the dark side. It was such an interesting and new concept! |
