In bright colors, Smith and Gray explain the glory of God through a child’s eyes.  A red-headed boy dreams of a world where leaves are French fries and the sky is cotton candy.

The red-headed boy also wonders what it would be like to not have sight, a sense of smell, and hearing.  In the end, the child tells God that though he wonders about quite a lot of things; he is assured that God is in control.

Isaac loved the bold pictures that have barnyard animals and child-like images.  The child’s simple face shows different emotions that Parish notices.

“What do you think of this book?”
“I like it.”

“What is your favorite picture?”
“I like this.”  She points to the cotton candy sky.

“Should we keep this book?”
“Yes.  I know….”  She grabs it and puts it on her shelf.  I had to get it back down for Isaac.

We flipped through the pages, determining the feelings of the boy in each picture.  “Things I Wonder” is a sweet, simple way to introduce grace, assurance, and faith to toddlers and preschoolers.
