The book focuses on one child’s distaste for rain spoiling his fun, a somewhat common theme, but it fortunately expands to say why we need rain, what would happen if we got too much rain and why it is just fine to have rain in a nice moderate every body needs water way.

The text is told in verse, which was not a good idea.  The patterning was awkward and took away from the story which could have been insightful and entertaining.  The illustrations were nice and at first the inventive text was amusing then it too became a distraction.  The puzzles in the back were a nice addition but possibly a little ahead of the abilities of the audience.
