Washington, D.C. is a wonderful place to visit!  There are so many things to do there that it can get a little crazy planning your visit.   Thankfully, “My Trip to Washington, D.C.” by JoAnn Polley is a very organized book so it helps with the confusion.  This book includes facts about places in Washington, D.C. (Union Station, Anacostia Museum, etc.).  It also has fun crossword puzzles and pockets for stamps, postcards (It even comes with one!), brochures, maps, ticket stubs and souvenirs.

This book is eye catching because it is very colorful and well designed, but I found it a bit boring because I read it in Austin, TX.  It would have been more interesting to read in Washington, D.C.!!  The author, JoAnn Polley, did a great job, although she could make it more interesting by writing more about the places she mentioned.

My favorite things about this book are how brightly it is colored, how the author used a different font for each place, and how the book was all about Washington, D.C. and nothing else.  How I jumped for joy when I read that the Capitol Visitor Center had planted 85 trees!
  
 I learned a lot about Washington, D.C. because I barely knew anything this book discussed!

“My Trip to Washington, D.C.” by JoAnn Polley has some very interesting facts but I would probably only recommend this book to read during a trip to Washington, D.C.  Afterwards, it would be a great keepsake because it would be full of your thoughts about the places you visited.
