In this book, Nancy Drew, female detective, is going to the movies with her friends and they take a shortcut through the graveyard which leads them right into a vampire. Thank God Nancy was dressed in a vampire slayer costume which had a fake crossbow - but this vampire did not know that – so now she and her friends were safe. When entering the move theater, Nancy spots a girl in a robe hiding her self and watching the movie. She watches this mysterious girl but she notices that Nancy is watching her so she gets up and leaves, right in the middle of the movie.

When the movie is over Nancy walks outside with her friends and finds that the guy from the graveyard is standing right there. He says “Sorry to frighten you, my name is Greg. I believe we met in the graveyard.” Nancy responds, “You seem nicer then when I saw you at the graveyard, why did you run away?” He replies “I was being chased by a dog and it looked like it was coming after me from where you were standing, it was a small dog and the color brown.” She replies “Oh, I am so sorry, that was my dog.  I always let him run around.”

Nancy is taken to Greg’s house where they have a nice talk and Greg shows Nancy all the cool things he has around in his house. But Nancy still doesn’t know if Greg is a vampire or not. Greg tells her about people thinking he is a vampire and they are always trying to get him, so he shows her the traps he set up around his house. But when Nancy and Greg turn around, they find that the same girl in the robe from the movie theater has gotten into his house - she says “Yes, I have finally found you. Prepare to be destroyed foul vampire!” The rest will be continued in “Vampire Slayer Part Two.”

“Nancy Drew: Vampire Slayer Part One”was really fun to read because it has some action and some funny stuff. I also thought this book was fun to read because I like vampires, who doesn't? I also liked it because it was illustrated to look like a comic which I like a lot. It makes the book more fun to read plus I like comic books.
