Justin desperately searches for his memories!  Who is he?  What was he? These questions are all-important and key to his survival. Can he surpass his mysterious enemies and conquer his obstacles? Can he get through Gemini’s Pass or survive the Forest of Shadows?  He must, in order to regain his memories!

“Astridus” was a good adventure story, telling how Justin finds his memories in a very fitting way. The adventure was good, the action was good, and the writing connected them together. I do wish it had a little more comedy, but other than that it was great!
Ages 12+ will like this book much more than any younger. This book has scary moments and tense situations, but nothing 8-year-olds couldn’t handle. It is just that 8-year-olds will not understand the complex emotions Justin experiences and why it is so important to him to regain his memories. That is why I definitely will recommend this book to anyone over 12, but not anyone younger than 10.  Both boys and girls will like this book equally.

My favorite part of “Astridus” by Brad McClintock was the end where the revelation is made of who he is and the impossible decision Justin has to make. This was definitely interesting to me.  I couldn’t put it down, even when my favorite show was on!  Definitely the strong point of this book is the build up to the end and the questions and ideas before the last couple of pages.
