Little Critter: Just Saving My Money (My First I Can Read!)
Madison: “His skateboard broke, it was sad. His skateboard didn’t have any wheels on it. He needed to get a new one. He did chores to get money. He fed the dog, he dropped dishes, and he sold lemonade. He packed his toys up and put them away. He saved money. He took it to the bank, and they counted it. He bought a dinosaur! It’s great!! It was so cool. I liked the dinosaur. I want to get a dinosaur!” Mom: This book was wonderful as Mayer’s books always are! It did a really good job of explaining the process of saving money and going to the bank at a little kid’s level of understanding. My daughter loves this book and we have read it many times. The illustrations are wonderful. Madison is able to “read” the book without reading the words by looking at the pictures on the pages. At her age this is wonderful because it helps her to recall the story as I am reading it to her. She also is able to “read” it to herself. I would highly suggest “Little Critter: Just Saving My Money” to all parents. It can be read for fun or as a tool to help teach your children the value in saving. |
