A wonderful, easy to read and colorfully illustrated book. It puts you in the mind of a mischievous puppy and its experiences trying to get noticed and loved. Just as all children do, the puppies in this book take no blame for anything that happens. You can’t help but love them. The wording of the poems was easy to read and understand, and the large illustrations of the puppies were great. Each puppy is a different breed and for kids who love puppies this is a great read.

Zoey’s comments:  I love puppies and these puppies were so cute. I like poems and it was easy for me to read without help. I didn’t like it when the puppies had sad faces- all puppies should be happy. On of my favorite poems was “Rain” - that puppy got wet and used an adult’s sweater to dry off and be warm. My puppy used to use our couch to dry off and my grandparents got mad. I also liked “Big” - sometimes puppies don’t know they are big- they are like babies. They are clumsy and want people in their house to love them. They have to grow.  I loved the poem “I Didn’t Do It” - sometimes I tell my mom I didn’t do something when I did and I blame it on the cats. That’s what this puppy did. He lied and that’s not nice, you should always tell the truth. I didn’t like the loose pages; it should be stapled like real books. The pages kept falling out. This was my favorite book.

Nana:  This was such a cute book - full of fun and the pictures of the puppies were big, bright and just captured your heart. Zoey read this book about four times and it is still her favorite. It was easy for her to read on her own and I didn’t have to tell her what the words meant. “I Didn’t Do It” was also a great book to have a discussion on about doing things you shouldn’t and being responsible. She didn’t like the fact it wasn’t put together like her other books, but I tried to explain to her about reviews and how they did them sometimes. Needless to say, we stapled it together.
