This is a story about a cow that eats bluebonnets.  Sue Ellen loves to smell, lick and eat the bluebonnets.  Max, the Longhorn, doesn’t want her to eat them, because they will never ever grow back again.  Sue Ellen didn’t believe him, so she ate all of them one day! All of the other cows were mad at her because she ate them all.

Sue Ellen tried to bring the bluebonnets back to the pasture by painting fake bluebonnets on paper and gluing them on sticks.  She covered the whole pasture.  This was my favorite part.  But, in a big Texas-size storm they blew away!

My favorite picture is of Sue Ellen and her sister Lisa Jean sitting next to the pond smelling bluebonnets.  I like Lisa Jean’s hair, it’s curly like mine!  I like the butterflies and dragonflies flying around above a frog in this same picture.

I enjoyed reading “Don’t Eat the Bluebonnets” by Ellen Leventhal and Ellen Rothberg and was happy that Sue Ellen fixed the problem in the pasture.
