“Running Horsemen,” by Dolph LeMoult, is an interesting book. It is the story of a boy named Chance who lives in a small Texas town with his mom. His dad left and never came back. They didn’t know where he was until one day when Chance’s dad calls them to tell them that he is in New York City. So Chance runs off to New York City to try to find his dad. In his first 24-hours of staying in the “Big Apple,” he makes friends with a Jewish artist and a crazy Nobel Prize author and falls in love with an ex-stripper.

I really did not like this book. First off, as soon as I saw the front of it, I did not want to read it. The cover had no appeal to me and the title is very strange. The writing on the back sounds racist and the book itself is strangely written. The main character, I guess, has a Texas accent, but it seems like it goes on and off. I was also surprised by the amount of profanity they have in the book. It is as if every single person in the book feels like cussing every single time something bad happens. In my opinion, I would never want to anyone else to read this and I don’t recommend “Running Horsemen” to anyone.
