This story is set in the future where genetic alterations have become easy-to-do, and also illegal. If you are found to be skidge, and illegal experimenting, you are banished to the beyond, or worse. Our main character, Lenni Hannix, is an artist with an uncanny ability to heal. Through the story, Lenni is always having trouble with her overbearing mother, and always getting help from her most trusted friend Elyle, who has been with her family for years. As Lenni’s healing abilities become obvious to Purity, all sorts of troubles stir up. Along the way, she makes friends who help her through and keep her going until she’s able to be free of purity, and all other troubles.

The author, Karen Krossing, gets the story across in an easy-to-follow manner, and while sometimes the story keeps you guessing, it never leaves out any details, and always keeps you wanting more.

In conclusion, “Pure” is a creative, imaginative, and well-put-together piece of work. This story will pull you in and keep you there until the very last page.
