Pajama Pirates
Grayce: Set your ship to sail across the bedroom floor and wait for the kids to beg for more, more, more. This book is so fun to read at bedtime and in the bed because that is where it starts for the main characters. Three siblings (known as the Pajama Pirates) are in their bedrooms trying to sleep, but instead they decide to embark on a pirate treasure hunt. They imagine a stolen map to lead to treasure, an unfriendly ship full of other pirates, an ensuing sword fight and a fake “ghost” that scares the other pirate ship away. Mother, in the form of Mother Nature, tells them to get to bed and even a plea of five more minutes is met with “walking the plank” back to bed. Grayce and I had a fun time reading this book. We used a flashlight to make SOS signals from the ship during the pirate attack. And, indeed, her stuffed animals were brought aboard to help protect us. We almost fell off the ship into the shark-infested carpet. Truly, “Pajama Pirates” is a great going-to-bed book. |
