This book is about a guy named Zach, on an average night, walking home from school. Zach gets into his room and starts to sleep when suddenly he hears something like moaning coming from downstairs. He walks down the stairs slowly and the moaning gets closer and closer till finally he sees it - his neighbor Danny had been turned into a zombie. Zach had no idea what was going on, but when he saw things like this he knew who to call. Zach ran to his room and called his friend Rice. Rice was an expert at zombies and vampires and stuff like that. Rice told Zach to grab anything you could hit a zombie’s head hard with. Then Zach remembered that his sister was having a sleepover; everyone had escaped the house except Zach and his sister’s friend Madison. Zach checked the window and there it was - zombie town. There were zombies everywhere! Some were crawling, some where just heads, and some where leaking green blood. Zach had no idea what to do, but Rice just told him to stay calm.

Zach took Madison down to the garage and Madison grabbed Zach’s mom’s keys for her car and hopped in the driver’s seat. Madison started the car and Zach jumped into the passenger seat. Madison sped out of the garage and hit many zombies. Madison drove to Rice’s house and picked him up and he climbed into the backseat. Rice said they need to stop at the store and pick up special zombie medicine. Madison parked the car in front of the store and Zach and Rice got out. About fifty minutes later, Rice and Zach come out with dozens of zombie medicine capsules. Everyone hoped that this would work.

Madison started the car and started driving away from the zombie sight and then the radio turned on and said in a weird robotic voice, “All should evacuate the neighborhood and drive to the safety area in the woods across the highway.” Madison had no idea where the highway would be so she just kept driving forward. After reaching the end of the highway, Madison, Zach and Rice find themselves surrounded by zombies. What will happen? Find out at the ending of “The Zombie Chasers” and the other book of “Zombie Chasers: Dead Ahead.”

This book was really fun to read because I like zombies and vampires and stuff like that, but some parts made me gag. I think if kids my age and older like zombies and vampires and stuff like that, they should definitely read “The Zombie Chasers.”
