Tales from the Tundra: A Collection of Inuit Stories
“Tales from the Tundra” has five different stories in it. These stories are from the arctic. The stories in the book are really old. There is one about an owl and a squirrel, one about a caribou and walrus, another one about a caribou, one about a raven and loon, and one about a ptarmigan and a snow bunting. My favorite story in “Tales from the Tundra: A Collection of Inuit Stories” was the first one. It was about an owl and a squirrel. The squirrel was called a siksik though because that is what it is called there. The owl was going to eat the siksik but the siksik tricked it. I liked that he got away. That was very smart of him to do that so he didn’t get eaten. I thought the story about the ptarmigan and snow bunting was kind of weird though. Some of the stories I needed help knowing what they meant. |
