This book is about a girl named Kate and a boy named Luke. They discover secrets in their neighborhood forest. My favorite part is when they find the little fairy houses with little clues inside of them with hints about finding more fairy houses. The fairy houses are very fancy and decorated with shells and other forest materials.

The illustrations are really nice and gave me a better picture in my mind of the story. My favorite picture is when a boy saw one of the fairy houses and Kate and Luke told him it was a campfire so he wouldn’t know about the secret houses. So the boy grabbed a match and set the house on fire and at the same time his hair caught on fire. The picture is very funny! Kate grabbed a water bottle and put the fire out on the house and the boy’s head.

As I was reading the story, I was hoping the kids were going to find the fairies! What they find in the ending of “Forest Secrets” will surprise you.
