When I got “The Last Little Blue Envelope” in the mail, I was so excited to read it! I had absolutely loved Ginny in the first book, so I was definitely immensely excited to read about her last letter from Aunt Peg in this book! I definitely got everything I hoped for, plus even more, when I read this book! It was filled with adventures, romance, heartbreaks, and those dreaded college application essays that we all dread writing.  The new characters, Oliver and Ellis, make you fall in love with them, no matter how hard you try not to! And, of course, you still love Richard and Keith, even though you want to strangle the latter so many times during the course of the book.

This book begins with Ginny struggling with what to write for her college essay. She’s been putting it off for so long, hoping that inspiration will strike, but the only thing that’s happened is the deadline getting closer. While taking a break, Ginny gets an email from a mysterious stranger who says that he has the 13th letter that Aunt Peg had sent her. He wants to meet her in London so that she can get it back. Ginny calls Richard and sets off to Christmas in London as soon as possible, but when she meets Oliver, things are not what she thought they were going to be. Oliver wants her to sell the paintings that her aunt has her running and looking for now, and he wants a cut of the profit. He won’t even give her the actual letter until the paintings are sold! Ginny decides to take him up on the adventure, but on her terms. She invites Keith, and his new girlfriend, who Ginny knows nothing about until she sees her in person in Keith’s apartment! The next week and a half are a roller coaster for Ginny, with twist and turns and plans that fall apart at every chance possible.

I think that my absolute favorite part of “The Last Little Blue Envelope” was Oliver. There were so many different facets to him, and just when you thought that you had him figured out, he did something totally unexpected! He was such an interesting character, and if there’s another book in this series, I really hope that he’s in it!
