“Warriors:  Skyclan & the Stranger: The Rescue” by Erin Hunter is a graphic novel about Skyclan, the new clan led by Leafstar and her deputy Sharpclaw.  When Leafstar and her three kits are taken hostage by a Twoleg (human), can the clan rescue them or will they be doomed to life as kitty pets?

Leafstar’s newborn kit, whose eyes were still not open, got too wiggly and tumbled off of one ledge and onto another - right in front of a Twoleg!  The Twoleg was horrified that a poor little kitty would have her kittens out in the open.  She quickly whisked up Leafstar and her three kits and took them to her nest (house).  Leafstar’s last words were, “Tell Nettlesplash.  He will know where I am.”

There were some naughty apprentices and a newly made warrior in the clan who had been eating the kitty pet food that the Twoleg had been putting out for them.  Just the day before the kitnapping, Leafstar caught the cats in the act and told them to stop.  Luckily, this meant that they could find the Twoleg nest and figure out a way to rescue Leafstar and her kits. 

Fallowfern faked a wounded leg and tricked the Twoleg into taking her into the nest.  Once in the nest she could hear Leafstar and the kits on the other side of a door.  How can she get to Leafstar?  How can she and Leafstar carry three kits?  Can they get help from a very unlikely source?

I would recommend “Warriors: Skyclan & the Stranger: The Rescue” to people who like action and adventure.  Cat lovers would enjoy this book, too.  There was a lot of secrecy and sneaking around in this book which I really liked.
