“Pajamas and the Days of the Week” is a story about a boy named John preparing for bed and learning the days of the week.  The text is written first in English and then in Portuguese.

Cayden:  “I liked the picture of the snail in the beginning and the snail riddle at the end, but the middle of the book was kind of strange.  I like books that have words besides English in them, but in this book I didn’t even know what some of the English words meant.”

Parent’s comments:

My children really did not get into “Pajamas and the Days of the Week” by Higina da Guia.  The storyline was not that interesting and was a little confusing in some areas.  The author’s note in the beginning of the book states that the book “is perfect for all who are learning a second language (English or Portuguese).”  It may be suitable for that purpose, but as an entertaining book to read to children it falls a little short.  Also, for a small soft cover book I think that the price of $18.95 is a tad bit steep for the content.
