“Bad Girls Club” is a book about young girl who has to protect her little sister from her mother’s harmful abuse. Destiny must spend her summer at home, trying to take care of her mother, who seems to be losing her mind.
Destiny is always being blamed for everything that happens. But the abuse gets taken out on her little sister, Cassidy. Their father is too busy trying to save his business. So he is hardly around. Destiny’s best friend, Chloe, tries to convince Destiny to run away. But Destiny is determined to help her mother get better. But will she succeed?
Destiny spends her entire summer at home to take care of her mother, and protect her little sister from the abuse. After her mother starts going crazy, Cassidy starts talking to an imaginary person named Podos. Cassidy mentions that Podos is going to cut their mother. As Destiny fights to help her mother, more and more things change. And things get harder.
In my opinion, this book was okay. “Bad Girls Club” grabs the reader’s attention and leaves you begging for more. But, there were a lot of questions left unanswered. What happens to Cassidy? Does she continue talking to Podos? Does their mom ever get better? What happens with Destiny?
I think that if the author makes a second book as a conclusion to the “Bad Girls Club,” the books would be perfect for anyone who has witnessed or suffered through abuse.
