Cayden’s comments:

“In ‘If I Were a Farmer’ there is a boy who says that he wants to live on a farm.  Then he thinks of all of the things that he needs if he were a farmer.  He puts on overalls and lots of other things.  Then he puts boots on.  It says that he has to wear work boots that go high up on his legs so that dirt and bugs don’t get on his feet.

He has lots of tractors and things.  He got all kinds of tools to go and fix the fence.  He loaded it all up in his trailer to go fix it.  I wish they would have showed the fence though and him fixing it.  He sure needed a lot of things to fix it!

He likes to drive on his tractor on his farm.  I liked when he went by the pond and saw the ducks in there.  I liked the one that was green and white.  He helps people a lot in his book.  That is very good to help other people.

The whole book is him talking because his words are in a little bubble thing that points to his mouth.  I don’t know why he is the only one talking though.  There are other people in the book but none of them say words even though he is talking to them.  That is kind of weird.

I liked the part of the book in the back where it told what some of the words meant in the book.”

Max’s comments:

“I liked the dog in the book.  His name was Rex.  He went with the boy everywhere that he went.  I liked when the boy helped the car that was stuck in the mud.  That car shouldn’t have tried to drive through that mud.  That was deep mud.  It was good that the boy had his own gas pump too so he could get gas for the people.”

Parent’s comments:

“If I Were a Farmer: Tommy’s Adventure” is a creative, imaginative tale that my children enjoyed.  After we had finished reading the book they both tried to think of other things that they would do if they were farmers.
