Mia wants to be just like her big sister, the dancer!  When her mom signs her up for dance classes, Mia is all ready to learn!  What Mia doesn’t realize is that she has packed her sisters tutu!  It is too big!  How will Mia ever learn to dance when her tutu won’t stay up?  Mia learns self confidence and the ability to have fun and learn even when things aren’t perfect.  With good friends to help her along the way, Mia learns to dance!

Madison:  “She wanted to be as big as her sister, be a ballerina.  Mia took a ballet class with her teacher.  She packs her sister’s tutu and goes to ballet school.  Mia gets dressed.  The tutu is too big!  It was her sisters!!  It fell down.  Mia is sad.  Her friend giraffe helps her.  They go dance together.  They trip!  It’s funny.  It’s my favorite part.  Ruby and Mia dance for the teacher and everyone claps!  They take a bow.  They did a good job!  Mommy, I like it!!”

Mom:  Madison is very into dance.  She absolutely loved this book.  I thought it was a wonderfully fun book to read with her.  She was proud of Mia at then end.  Mia learns that even if you trip and fall, you should still get up and try again.  Everyone can trip, it takes bravery to get up and try again.  Mia and Ruby were the only ones brave enough to dance like the teacher asked.  They did a wonderful job and were proud of themselves and happy at the end.  This is a great book for all ages.  “Mia and the Too Big Tutu” is a wonderful tool for those learning to read.
