The Unlikely Flying Object
“The Unlikely Flying Object” by Susan Docherty is a weird book that I would never have thought children would like. How wrong was I! J.T. thought it was funny! He is giving it his “thumbs up” stamp of approval. The characters of “The Unlikely Flying Object” are sweaterheads. Let me explain that. They are beings from the planet Intarsia that are made of knitted yarn. Weird, huh? That is what I thought, also. The sweaterheads explore Earth in “The Unlikely Flying Object.” They end up abducting a Spanish chef, a farmer, and a professor. J.T. believes that his friends will want to read this odd story. He specifically liked the picture of the newspaper with the headline of the chef’s abduction. I do not think that girls will like this, but then again, who knows? Third and fourth-grade boys will enjoy this adventurous book. The words are easy to read and sound out. The font is large. The pictures are attention-grabbing. There are 32 pages. Feed your child’s imagination with this wacky tale in “The Unlikely Flying Object.” |
