Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun: Having the Courage to Be Who You Are
“Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun” is a wonderful book for kids who are around those who are mean to them or are bullies. It has bright, colorful illustrations and is easy to read. The author made a great story turn into a good lesson. Zoey: ‘Well, there are just some kids that are mean and like to hurt other people’s feelings. Ralph (the mean guy) is always being mean to Lucy (nice girl) and it hurts her feelings. She treats him nice and he calls her names. One day he needs help and Lucy helps him even if he called her names. The pictures were pretty and I liked this story. There is a girl who is mean to me in my class and I just try to be nice to her.” Nana: “Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun” is a book every parent and teacher should have. This is a wonderful way to begin addressing bullies and people being mean to you. It is easy to read for a child and sparks a lot of conversation. The pictures are so cute and tie right into the story. Zoey shared this book with her class. |
