 “Sandryn’s Glow” is story of a girl and her estranged father.  For Sandryn, it is a love hate relationship. For her father it is more a “my little girl has grown up” scenario.  Unfortunately for Sandryn and her father Jarret they have little time to devote to either side of the relationship.  Jarret is required to find the king’s son instead of attending his daughter’s birthday and Sandryn is forced to flee her home and learn about her magic.

This is a young adult novel that may be part of a series of books.  It is a pleasant story, the big nasty isn’t too big and the magic used is more colorful than deadly.  The characters are well defined but I would have like to have a better sense of the world they live in. It would be well suited to young teens exploring independence and experiencing parental tension.
