Cat strays away from home and is lost. Everywhere he looks someone else says, “Scat, Cat!” because he is not at his home. Cat spends a day out on the town. He meets many of the local shop owners and other animals of the town. Everyone tells him the same thing, “Scat, Cat!”  Soon night falls and even the owl and bat tell Cat to go home. Will he ever find his home? Maybe if he just rests on this porch for the night, he will find home tomorrow. In the morning Cat awakes to a bright eyed, bubbly boy who is so excited to see him! This is unlike the rest of the town! Has he found his home?

Madison: “Each animal said ‘Scat, Cat’ because he was lost and needed to go home. He doesn’t live with the doggy. He met all the other cats and a bird. He met a barber. What’s a barber? ‘Scat, Cat’ said the baker! He was so sad that everyone said ‘Scat, Cat.’ He sees a duck, goose, frog, owl and bat! He finally found a skunk; the skunk said ‘That’s my log! Scat, Cat.’  He finally found his home!  He lay in the soft, soft pillow chair. The little boy finds him in the morning. He is happy and doesn’t say ‘Scat, Cat.’ The End!”

“I liked ‘Scat, Cat!’  It was so much fun that I would even cry.”

Mom: “Scat, Cat!” is an original, fun and creative adventure for parents and children to read together. It is a “My First, I Can Read!” book. It is set up to repeat itself with familiar words so that early learners can recognize and understand the words. Madison started to point out the words “Scat, Cat” to me. This is a fun book to read to your children, or have them read to you! The illustrations are colorful and vivid. You feel as if you are taking the trip around town with Cat. I would recommend this book for children ages 3 - 8.
