Sam Harding met Abe Lincoln for the first time when he was ten-years-old and started attending school. They became best friends going fishing and playing with nearby Indian children. The boys got into all kinds of exciting things. As they grew older Abe moved away and became President of the United States.

Zoey:

“We are studying Abe Lincoln in school and I took this book to share with my class. No one really knew about Abe Lincoln and his friend and how they played. He was a very important man and said there shouldn’t be any slaves. Slaves were treated meanly. I didn’t know Abe liked to read so much- just like me. He taught himself many things. That goes to show you that you should read; reading makes you smart.”

Nana:

“My Best Friend, Abe Lincoln: A Tale of Two Boys from Indiana”is a very entertaining educational book for 4 to 8-year-olds. The pictures are very colorful, and the print is large enough for younger readers. She has read this book over and over and then asked us questions about what we learned.
